FOX on Tech: Mobile Web Surfing Study

Cell Phones

Is there enough internet safety for kids, especially when it comes to mobile web?  That question is being raised after a study shows more young people are going online on-the-go.

FOX News Radio’s Steve Rappoport reports:

People ages 12-17 are ditching computers for cell phones when surfing the web.  A new study from the Pew Internet & American Life Project finds 78% of young people have cell phones; nearly half of those are smartphones.  One-in-two with smartphones frequently use them to access the internet, compared to just 15% of adults.

The trend presents a challenge for parents restricting their kids’ online activities.  Many smartphone applications claim to do that, but tech experts say those apps are hit-and-miss.
