A week after a Florida man was killed when a sinkhole literally swallowed his bedroom, there are new worries about the same kind of instance more than a thousand miles away.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has details:

Sinkholes in the eastern Pennsylvania town of Bethlehem forcing at least one family from their home.  The largest of at least three sinkholes is nearly 40 feet wide and has neighbors like Courtney Smith packing their bags, just in case.

(Smith) “You hear creaking or you smell sewage or the doors don’t open, then call 911.”

A 30-year-old sewer line broke in the area last week, leaving township Sewer Director Steve Hunsberger to warn of the potential for more sinkholes.

(Hunsberger) “We didn’t expect to see those holes until this morning, so can it happen?  It could.”

Repairs could take the better part of a week.
