Libya Security Under Scrutiny

Big-time tension at the first congressional hearing into the deadly consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya.

FOX News Radio’s Rich Johnson reports from Capitol Hill:

A top State Department Official for Embassy Security, Charlene Lamb, tells the House Oversight Committee after a lot of conversations about the Libyan Embassy and Consulate they determined:

(Lamb) “We had the correct number of assets in Benghazi at the time of 9/11 for what had been agreed upon.”

    Lamb’s comments not sitting well…

(Issa) “To start off by saying you had the correct number, and our Ambassador and three other individuals are dead…”

With Oversight Panel Chairman Darryl Issa…

(Issa) “…Somehow doesn’t seem to ring true to the American people.”

And the former head of a military team that had been in Libya tells lawmakers, the mission never had the forces it needed to protect itself.
