An ex-con in Florida is back behind bars, caught with his pants down - literally - putting an end to a day-long crime spree in the Sunshine State.
FOX News Radio's Chris Hoenig has the story:
Authorities say 34-year-old Jason Wayo was desperate to avoid capture, even if it meant losing his pants.
(Rose) "He was just released from prison on August 27th, so he's only been out six months. He spoke to relatives and said he wasn't going back."
Wendy Rose of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says Wayo stole two cars before getting into a confrontation with residents in Venice.
(Rose) "One victim was shot in the hand, another man was pistol-whipped who came to the aid of his neighbor, and that's where we believe the suspect was injured, as well."
Wayo was shot twice by the neighbor, a retired cop, but took off in a third stolen car. He crashed that during a chase, before hiding out in a nearby home. Police located him and led him out after a brief standoff...tighty-whities, and all.
