AEHQ: Pounding The Political Pavement In Iowa

Newt Gingrich may have the poll numbers, but Ron Paul has the organization in Iowa.

FOX News Radio’s Rich Johnson has visited both campaign volunteer hubs and files this report from America’s Election Headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa:

From America’s Election Headquarters:

Koberg: “It’s exciting. It’s really fun.”

Campaign pro and Iowa native Katie Koberg is enthused by the volunteers who’ve shown up from all over the country to work on behalf of Newt Gingrich in Iowa. Koberg talked to me in a nearly empty office. But she says, don’t be fooled by that.

Koberg: “We are out meeting with people at kitchen tables and in coffee shops and making sure they understand the message of Newt Gingrich.”

15 miles away, James Barcia is directing the Ron Paul organization, which he says is fueled by dedicated volunteers.

Barcia: “The type of person we have is the person to show up more than once, and to be energized and to want to come time and time again.”

Barcia says the fact that the campaign is organizing way above where it’s polling, is a tribute to the message of the candidate.
