Giving Back: Church Hands Out $100 Bills

Typically, church goers get the wallets out every Sunday as the collection plates are passed around.  But in a suburban Buffalo church, that practice was reversed over the weekend.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig explains:

Instead of collecting money on Sunday, the Vine Wesleyan Church in Depew, NY gave money back to their congregants – to the tune of $100 each.

(Baldwin) “This was given unconditionally.  We don’t have any kind of police to watch over them.”

Pastor Christopher Baldwin gave out the white envelopes, each containing a crisp $100 bill.

(Fohl) “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

Rick Fohl and his wife, Karen, plan to double the money and donate it to the Buffalo City Mission.

(Fohl) “It’s a great way to distribute the money to the community.”

Which is exactly what Pastor Baldwin says he was aiming for.
