Chantix & Suicide

A popular drug used to help people stop smoking could have deadly results, according to a new study.

FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:

It’s the cure that might kill you.  Chantix is made by Pfizer to help you stop smoking.  It also carries an elevated risk of suicide according to a new study.  Chantix is eight times more likely to be linked to reported suicidal behavior or depression compared to other nicotine replacement products.  The new report in the Public Library of Science Journal PLoS One contradicts recent FDA findings that Chantix is not a trigger for depression.  The latest research says Chantix is a problem drug and because of the dangers it should not be a first-line treatment; but used only when all else fails.
