Baucus Proposes $856 Billion Health Care Reform Plan

Despite drawing bipartisan criticism over the proposal, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., said Wednesday that his plan is a “common-sense bill that can pass the Senate” and represents a compromise. It does not include a controversial government-run insurance plan, but does include a different system aimed at providing Americans an alternative to traditional private insurance.
