Travel Tips for Couples Embarking on their First Vacation Together
Travel tips for couples embarking on their first vacation together.
FOX’s Ashley Papa presents “FOX on Love”:
If you really want to get to know a person, take a trip together. With the unofficial start of summer, maybe you’re thinking about planning a vacation with your new sweetie.
Travel expert, Lee Abbamonte says the first trip a couples takes together is crucial because you see each other outside your normal routines:
(Abbamonte) “The difference when you’re home and when you’re on vacation is you’re with that person 24 hours a day in theory so you really have to kind of set rules and boundaries especially with a new person.”
If you want your trip to make your relationship, not break it, it’s important to discuss your travel personalities. For example, you love the beach, but your partner might prefer the pool:
(Abbamonte) “Talk about your expectations and talk about what you’re going to do on the trip. Whether it’s money, whether it’s what your itinerary is, where you’re going to go, where you’re going to stay, what your budget is and basically how much time you’re going to spend together.”
Since a vacation can bring out the good, the bad and the ugly in someone, remember to pack your patience.
