Baltimore Cop Edward Nero ‘Not Guilty’ on all Counts in Freddie Gray Case
The verdict is in for a second Baltimore police officer charged in the death of Freddie Gray…
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has the details:
Officer Edward Nero has been found not guilty of assault and other charges in the arrest of Freddie Gray, a young black man who died a week after he was critically injured in police custody last year.
Following the verdict announcement, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake issued a statement, saying the city will protect neighborhoods, businesses and the people who live there.
Gray family attorney William Murphy says he’s okay with the verdict:
(Murphy) “Unless you were in the courtroom and you heard all of the facts, there is no reasonable basis to quarrel with that decision.”
Nero was one of six officers charged in the case… The second one to face trial.
