Uber Drivers Will be Represented by the Independent Drivers Guild

Thousands of Uber drivers will now have representation from a union.

    FOX’s Gary Baumgarten reports:

35,000 Uber drivers will now have more protections and rights. This after Uber and its drivers reached a deal that allows them to be represented by the Independent Drivers Guild:

(Conigliaro) “It’s job security, it’s a voice in the workplace, it’s benefits and a clear political agenda to achieve higher income for workers.”

Guild founder James Conigliaro says that drivers will have representation by Guild officials, access to discounted legal services, as well as life and disability insurance discounts.

Uber says riders will not see a change in service or fares.
