Speaker Paul Ryan Prepares for Meeting with Donald Trump

To defeat Democrats in November, House Speaker Paul Ryan says the Republican party needs to be unified. A step to do that happens tomorrow, when Donald Trump meets with GOP leaders.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more on Capitol Hill:

Speaker Ryan says he needs to get to know Donald Trump better:

(Ryan) “We just finished one of the most grueling primaries probably in modern history and it’s going some work and that’s the kind of work we’re dedicated to doing.”

Ryan has so far not endorsed the presumptive Republican nominee and has made clear differences he has with policy proposals and rhetoric. A concern shared by other House Republicans like Pennsylvania’s Charlie Dent:

(Dent) “About the lack of policy specifics, the contradictory nature of some of the polices he has announced, few as they are.”

Lawmakers who are supporting Trump say they do believe the party will go into the summer convention, unified.
