U.S. Embassy in Moscow Concerned about Two Close Fly-Bys over a U.S. Naval Ship
More reaction Thursday to some provocative Russian fly-bys over a U.S. naval ship.
FOX’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:
White House spokesman Josh Earnest confirmed that the U.S. Embassy in Moscow has communicated formal concerns to the Russian government about two extremely close overflights this week of a U.S. Navy Destroyer by Russian fighter jets:
(Earnest) “The incident is inconsistent with the professional norms of militaries that are operating in proximity to each other in international waters and airspace.”
There are often encounters between U.S. ships and aircraft and their Russian counterparts.
But these incidents were deemed unsafe by U.S. Navy personnel aboard the ship.
