Tennessee Titans Trade Number One Draft Pick to Los Angeles Rams
The top pick in this year’s NFL Draft has been traded.
FOX’s Chris Hoenig has more:
The Tennessee Titans have traded the number one overall pick in this month’s NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Rams.
L.A. will also get the Titans fourth and sixth round picks this year, while the Titans get six picks total in return: The Rams first rounder, two second round and one third round this year, as well as L.A.’s first and third round picks next year.
Tennessee GM Jon Robinson telling the Titans website they’ve been shopping the top-overall pick since the NFL combine:
(Robinson) “It was a chance for us to bolster the depth of this football team and add a lot of good quality players that are going to be at the top of the draft.”
It’s the first time the number one pick has been traded since San Diego sent the New York Giants the rights to Eli Manning in 2004 and the furthest a team has ever traded up to the first-overall pick, with the Rams having had the 15th pick in the first round.
