Walt Disney World Installs Mickey Mouse Solar Panels Near Epcot Theme Park
The “Happiest Place on Earth” is soaking up some sun.
FOX’s Chris Foster reports:
New solar panels are installed at Walt Disney World in Florida in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears.
The solar facility, located near the Epcot theme park, is operated by Duke Energy.
Spokesman Randy Wheeless:
(Wheeless) “It’s 48,000 panels, it’s five megawatts, which would probably power about 1,000 residential homes. So it’s a pretty fair size and it’s very unique to get it in the shape of the Disney character, so we were very proud of it.”
Disney will buy the power, for some its hotels.
