Federal Budget Deadline is Friday, House Republicans Likely to Miss It

House Republicans are likely to miss this week’s deadline to pass a federal budget.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

A months-long feud between House Republican leaders and Tea Party supporters, likely means lawmakers blow past a Friday deadline to approve a budget.

    House Speaker Paul Ryan:

(Ryan) “We’re keeping all options open, we’re not foreclosing any options. But you know me, I want to pass a budget. I think we should pass a budget and we’re still having those kind of conversations.”

There is a bipartisan deal in place, struck last year, setting spending caps, but conservative Republicans are demanding cuts.

In the meantime, House and Senate appropriators are moving forward on a dozen separate spending bills that actually fund agencies and programs.
