Officer at a Public Library in D.C. Bounces a Muslim Woman for Wearing a Hijab
The public library in Washington, D.C., is apologizing over the removal of a Muslim woman wearing a hijab.
FOX’s Tom Rigatti has more:
D.C. public library officials are investigating a report that one of its public safety officers bounced a Muslim woman from a library because she was wearing a hijab.
The officer reportedly mistook the religious head covering for a hoodie and told her to leave. The officer has been removed from patrol pending the outcome of the probe.
Library officials say they are taking the accusation seriously, that they are committed to diversity and equality and that libraries are welcome to all.
They’re trying to locate the woman to apologize.
