Astronaut Scott Kelly Returns to Earth, Holds American Record for a Single Space Mission

An historic mission in space comes to an end.

    FOX’s Rich Denison reports:

Astronaut Scott Kelly now holds the American record for a single space mission, landing Tuesday night in Kazakhstan after spending 340 days aboard the international space station:

(NASA) “Scott Kelly, Mikhail Kornienko back on Earth, along with Sergey Volkov in their so used craft.”

Before leaving the space station, Kelly reflected on his mission, which will help NASA study effects of long-term space flight, like trips to Mars:

(Kelly) “This is an incredible privilege to be able to work for NASA and represent my country.”

Kelly and Cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko orbited the Earth more than 5,400 times, traveling more than 144 million miles.
