College in Vermont Believes Energy Drinks Promote Sexual Promiscuity
Does the drinking of energy drinks promote sexual promiscuity? One New England college thinks so.
FOX’s Kevin Battle has more:
Middlebury College in Vermont banning the on-campus sale of energy drinks like Red Bull, 5-hour Energy and Rock Star, not because of various health risks like heart disease or liver damage, but, because it said the drinks may lead to “problematic behavior” like “high-risk sexual activity” and alcohol abuse which could also lead to DUI.
The initiative follows a community council meeting in January, when a dining software intern said the sale of energy drinks on campus didn’t align with college’s goal to “nourish and nurture today and tomorrow by sustaining mind, body and earth.”
Health risks aside, it’s unclear whether energy drinks directly increase the chance of high-risk sex.
