President Obama Considering Nevada Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval for Supreme Court Justice
The President is considering a Republican for the vacancy on the Supreme Court.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
In an attempt to find a nominee that might be palatable to Senate Republicans, the President is considering nominating Nevada Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval to the Supreme Court.
Sandoval is now being vetted by the White House Counsel’s office. Sandoval’s office is denying that the White House has contacted the Governor.
The 52-year-old is the state’s first Hispanic governor and is pro-choice.
Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are opposed to holding confirmation hearings on the President’s pick, insisting that the choice rests with the next president.
