Former Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali Dead at 93

The United Nation is remembering former Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali who died today.

FOX’s Gurnal Scott has the story:

Members of the U.N. security council stood in silent tribute at a meeting today when the death was announced.

Boutros-Ghali served as Secretary General from 1992 to 1996. Upon his election, he said through an interpreter that his Egyptian heritage and Egypt’s history as a crossroad of nations gave him a special perspective:

(Boutros-Ghali) “The faith to which every Egyptian is wholeheartedly committed that is faith in peace and security as a goal.”

His later years saw him lead a diplomatic group of French-speaking nations and Egypt’s human rights council.

    Boutros-Ghali was 93.
