Americans Not Living As Long as People in Other Countries

Americans don’t live quite as long as people in other developed countries and there’s a reason for it.

FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

You know what the leading cause of death is for Americans 44 and younger? Not cancer or heart attacks or disease…

Try car crashes, violence, and drug poisonings and overdoses. All those combine to be number one, according to the Centers for Disease Control, dragging down Americans life expectancy to less than 12 other developed countries: Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy and Japan. The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.

People there live to be 78 on average, compared to about 76 years old here.

The CDC report in Tuesday’s Journal of the American Medical Association shows gun deaths in men are 18 times higher in America than those countries.
