NFL to Host First-Ever Women’s Summit

As Super Bowl 50 grows closer, the NFL wants to use the big game as an opportunity to prove sports is not just a man’s world.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

The NFL will host it’s first-ever women’s summit on Thursday and Friday, as part of the events leading up to Super Bowl 50.

Commissioner Roger Goodell will be joined by former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, golfer Annika Sörenstam, and tennis star Serena Williams:

(Williams) “I’ve had people overlook me because I was a woman.”

Williams was named last year’s Sports Illustrated ‘Sportsperson of the Year’:

(Williams) “My hope by winning this award, can inspire many many more woman. Yes ladies it can be done.”

The panel will discuss the role sports have played in their lives and how it’s helped them develop into leaders. Not female leaders. Just leaders.
