United States Removing More Restrictions On Trading with Cuba

The U.S. announces it’s removing more restrictions on trade with Cuba, but it is still not possible to take an impromptu flight from Florida to the island.

FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:

In what is understood to be the progressive normalizing of relations between the United States and Cuba, the U.S. is now easing some economic restrictions it had long held with regard to trade with the communist island south of Florida.

Specifically the U.S. Treasury will remove restrictions on payments and financing for authorized exports, and will authorize transactions related to professional meetings or disaster preparedness on the island.

They will even allow code-sharing of flights with Cuban Airlines. But the bulk of the U.S. embargo remains in effect, as it is an act of Congress.
