Pete Rose to be Inducted into Reds’ Hall of Fame
Pete Rose is finally going into a Baseball Hall of Fame, just not the famed one in Cooperstown.
FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:
(Rose) “My name is kind of synonymous with the Reds.”
So Pete Rose is thrilled to be enshrined in Cincinnati:
(Rose) “This is the best Hall of Fame in all of baseball.”
Rose will be inducted in June:
(Rose) “This is an honor you just can’t believe how you feel.”
The Reds will put Rose in their teams Hall of Fame, even though he’s been banned by Major League Baseball for betting on games and not eligible for the Hall in Cooperstown, New York:
(Castellini) “The Commissioner gave us permission to do that.”
Cincinnati Reds CEO Bob Castellini:
(Castellini) “His hustle, his style of play, and passion for the game are simply unforgettable.”
They will also retire Rose’s No. 14 and put a statue outside the stadium four miles from where he was born:
(Rose) “Probably a head-first statue.”
The preferred way to slide for baseball’s all-time hits leader.
