Chris Christie: Iran Makes a ‘Fool’ of President Obama
Not everyone is cheering a prisoner swap with Iran that’s allowing five Americans to return to the United States.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
Republican Presidential candidate Chris Christie says he’s pleased the Americans have been freed, but he doesn’t like that President Obama negotiates with Iran:
(Christie) ”They pick this President’s pocket day after day after day. And they make a fool of him. And a fool of our country.”
Secretary of State John Kerry says the swap was the best way to free the Americans. And he says the Iranians who were released had been charged or convicted of violating economic sanctions, which the nuclear deal does away with:
(Kerry) ”What we gave up, we believe, were people who were about to get out anyway.”
Another GOP Presidential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz, says the prisoner exchange sets a dangerous precedent.
