Actor Steven Seagal Granted Serbain Citizenship
A Hollywood action hero gets a new citizenship.
FOX’s Simon Owen reports from the European bureau:
(Seagal) “Come on that’s not striking an officer… That’s striking an officer.”
Steven Seagal granted Serbian citizenship, after becoming friendly with the government in Belgrade. The star of ‘Under Siege’ and ‘Above the Law’ even offered the chance to train Serbian special police forces in martial arts.
Serbian state media reports the offer of citizenship came after a recent visit when Seagal offered to set up a martial arts school. And his blues band performed an open-air concert in Belgrade on New Year’s Eve.
Seagal is big in certain quarters of Eastern Europe, he’s also friends with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
