Trial Delayed In Baltimore Police Officer Hearing
The trial of a Baltimore police officer in the death of Freddie Gray has been delayed.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports:
A last-minute order from an appeals court put a temporary stop to the trial of Officer Caesar Goodson, who was driving the police van the day Freddie Gray suffered a fatal spinal cord injury.
Jury selection was stopped and the case was put on hold while the second highest court in Maryland decides whether Officer William Porter, who’s own trial ended in a hung jury, can be forced to testify against Goodson.
It’s unclear how long it will take for the court to make a decision. Officer Porter is scheduled to be retried in the case this summer.
