Possible Sanctions On the Way to North Korea
Congress could deliver sanctions to North Korea after a nuclear test.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
House leaders have set up votes for next week to address not just North Korea’s nuclear activity, but Iran’s as well.
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi says sanctions targeting North Korean currency have been in the works well before this week’s reported test of a hydrogen bomb.
(Pelosi) “It is ready to go and we will support it.”
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is also teeing up legislation that would prevent the Obama administration from lifting sanctions to Iranian officials and banks until there’s certainty they won’t support terror or weapons programs.
Democrats are not expected to support that.
