American Soldiers Rescued in Afghanistan
American soldiers have been rescued in Afghanistan.
FOX’s Jessica Golloher has the details:
Two wounded soldiers and the body of another were evacuated from a battlefield in Southern Afghanistan. Military spokesman Army Colonel Mike Lawhorn says all casualties have been evacuated.
This comes after hours of fighting in the city of Marjah, in the Southern Helmand province. The evacuation was delayed when one helicopter was fired upon and couldn’t land, another was not able to take off.
The team of nearly 12 U.S. Special Forces, including the body of the special operator killed and two Americans wounded, were fending off the Taliban.
The Islamic insurgents have attacked a number of cities in Helmand province since U.S. and Nato concluded their combat mission in Afghanistan.
