Poll: Americans Place Higher Priority on Preserving Religious Freedom of Christians
A new poll suggests that Americans place a higher priority on preserving the religious freedom of Christians than for other faith groups.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
Solid majorities in the new AP poll said it was extremely or very important for the U.S. to uphold religious freedom in general.
But while 82% said religious liberty protections were important for Christians, 61% said the same for Muslims.
The poll was conducted after Islamic extremist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.
A Pew Research Center survey last year found an increasing share of Americans believe Islam is more likely than other religions to encourage violence among its followers.
