Holiday Shopping Report Shows Increase in Smartphones and Computers

An early report on holiday shopping finds a jump in online buying.

FOX’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:

A 20% increase in shopping via smartphones, tablets, and computers… That’s according to the MasterCard SpendingPulse report for retail sales from Black Friday to Christmas Eve.

Most holiday shopping remains in stores, and counting all categories the report finds an overall increase of almost 8% from last year.

Furniture and women’s clothing rose in double-digit percentages. This report doesn’t include dollar amounts, but the National Retail Federation predicts its November and December report also will top last year’s.
