23-year-old Frenchman Foued Mohamed-Aggad identified after his mother received a text message saying her son was dead and had died as a martyr. She then gave police a DNA sample.
Officials say Mohamed-Aggad had spent time in Syria, leaving France in 2013. In an interview with French newspaper The Parisien, his father saying if he’d known what his son was planning, he’d have killed him.
