Carly Simon Reveals a Secret About Her Hit Song
A little part of music history became clearer.
FOX News’ Michelle Pollino reports:
(Simon) “You’re so vain…”
Carly Simon revealed who she was writing about in her famous song ‘You’re So Vain.’ Well at least partially, telling People Magazine the second verse was written about Warren Beatty.
(Simon) “Well you had me several years ago when I was still quite naive.”
She went on to say Beatty thinks the entire song is about him, but really it’s only one verse. The other two verses are about two other men, so Mick Jagger you’re still in luck!
Simon dated both men in the 70’s and was married to fellow musician James Taylor. She has a new memoir coming out later this month called ‘Boys in the Trees.’
