NASCAR’s Joey Logano Looks To Texas
Drivers head to the Lone Star State as NASCAR tries to put the controversy of last week at Martinsville in the rear view mirror.
FOX News’ Kirstin McNary gives you the lowdown in this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
FOX in the Fast Lane.
Last week’s intentional wreck at Martinsville by Matt Kenseth has placed Penske driver Joey Logano in a deep hole heading into Texas Motor Speedway… But the Connecticut native is hoping to channel some past karma.
(Logano) “It’s a track I enjoy. You know I enjoy the bumps. I enjoy the surface that wears the tires out… I enjoy all that. And Texas is just a fun race track in general, you know?”
Logano grabbed a checkered flag at Texas in 2003 and may need to win one of the next two races to have any hope of reaching the final round.
With three career wins at TMS, Carl Edwards is in prime position to punch his ticket to Homestead, but he knows past experience doesn’t dictate future results.
(Edwards) “Past success at these big tracks doesn’t mean much, you know, if your team gets it right, you hit it on the head… if you’ve got a big engine and a fast race car it’s good and fortunately we do have good engines and good race cars right now so I think Texas should be good.”
The No. 19 Toyota sits in fifth place in The Chase standings.
