Pentagon Official: Russian Airplane Was Not Shot Down
We still don’t know if a Russian plane was bombed out of the sky, but the U.S. is ruling out one cause of the crash that killed 224 people, leaving the jet in charred pieces scattered for miles in the desert.
More from Fox News’ Jon Decker at the White House:
A Pentagon official with access to the latest intelligence report of the crash of the Russian airliner told FOX News that the plane was not shot down.
But even though the Pentagon does not think the Russian passenger plane was shot down, the U.S. Intelligence Community cannot rule out terrorism.
On Monday, a top official for the Russian Metrojet airline said the Airbus 321 did not crash due to mechanical or pilot error.
Investigators have recovered the plane’s black boxes and are now trying to determine why the plane exploded in mid-air over the Sinai.
