Obama Administration Sending Special Ops Forces to Syria

The Obama Administration changes its military strategy in Syria, by putting a small amount of boots on the ground.

FOX News Radio’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:

A senior administration official tells FOX News that up to 50 special operations forces will be deployed in an advisory role to Syria where they will help coordinate local ground forces and coalition efforts to counter ISIS.

Separately, the U.S. will set up a Special Ops Task Force to work with the Iraqis and go after high value targets in Iraq. In addition, the U.S. will also expand security assistance to Jordan and Lebanon, to expand Jordanian airstrikes against ISIS.

The moves reflect a wider strategy of strengthening moderate rebels in Syria who are the lead forces on the ground taking the fight to ISIS.
