House Passes Two-Year Budget Deal

    A hurdle has been passed for the latest congressional budget deal.

    FOX News’ Mike Emanuel reports:

    The bipartisan two-year budget package that also addresses the government borrowing authority through March 2017 passed the House by a 266-167 vote.

    But California Republican congressman Darrell Issa said he would vote no because some of the pay for’s are “gimmicks.”

    (Issa) “We’re robbing from the future to pay for today.”

    Yet the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Mac Thornberry said this package would provide some budgeting certainty…

    (Thornberry) “If we do not approve this budget… then what?  Well then we are back to continuing resolutions and sequester.”
