Rep Kinzinger (R-Ill) “Yeah, It Bothers Me” That Sen Rubio Has Missed A Lot Of Votes In The Senate
“I’ve have made almost every vote we have had out here. I think as a legislator you have a requirement to do it…. yeah it bothers me….I like Marco but I think that’s definitely something he has to answer.”
—Rep. Adam Kinzinger on GOP Presidential candidate, Senator Marco Rubio missing a large amount of votes in the Senate since announcing his candidacy.
Illinois Congressman, Adam Kinzinger ( R ), called into Kilmeade & Friends to talk about our new strategy against ISIS, why he will vote yes on the two-year debt and budget deal, what he is looking for in tonight’s GOP debate and why it bothers him that GOP Presidential candidate, Sen. Marco Rubio, has missed votes in the Senate.
Listen here:
Kinzinger on Rubio missing senate votes
Kinzinger: “He is going to have to explain tonight, though, how he has missed 46% of the votes in the Senate and why that’s important.”
Brian: “Does that bother you?”
Kinzinger: “It does, yeah, I mean, look, I’ve have made almost every vote we have had out here. I think as a legislator you have a requirement to do it. Look, even Rand Paul has only missed 10% of the votes so, yeah it bothers me. Look I like Marco but I think that’s definitely something he has to answer.”
Brian: “he says he has never missed a decisive vote”
Kinzinger: “Well, I mean, look, probably 90% of the votes we take in the House are not necessarily decisive and aren’t going to go to the president’s desk, but I get paid a pretty good salary every year to make sure I am doing what the 16th District wants me to do and so I think it’s an important part. But look, he is running for president, I understand the pressures of that. He’s a good guy but I think that’s something he probably has to answer to tonight.”
