South Carolina Officer Drags Student Out of Classroom

There is reaction to the State and Federal Civil Rights investigation into the case of a student manhandled by an officer in a South Carolina classroom.

FOX News Radio’s Gurnal Scott has the story:

The U.S. Justice Department opened the investigation into the incident captured Monday on a cell phone camera.

The video showed school resource officer Ben Fields pulling the Spring Valley High School student from her desk… dragging her out of the classroom.

Officials say just moments before the student refused to leave after being disruptive. The FBI is also part of the investigation to see if any federal laws were broken.

Officer Fields was placed on leave after the video was posted.
