Voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully, Sidelined for the Playoffs

A familiar voice in the broadcast booth will not be along for the Dodgers playoff run.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:

The voice of the Dodgers has been silenced, for now. Vin Scully won’t call any postseason games after undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure.

The Dodgers say he’s resting comfortably. Scully will turn 88 next month and is as legendary as the team…

(Scully) “High fly ball into right field, she is… gone!”

His call of Kirk Gibson’s famed home run when L.A. won the 1988 World Series is one of too many to count.

Scully has been the voice of the Dodgers since 1950 when they were in Brooklyn and he still plans to be back next year for his 67th season on the air.
