FOX In The Fast Lane – Martinsville “Tums Fast Relief 500” – FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh Reports
5 races done, 5 to go. NASCAR making tracks to Virginia this week for the “Tums Fast Relief 500.” FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh has the latest with “FOX In The Fast Lane.”
When it comes to the half-mile oval track at Martinsville Speedway, two drivers have cornered the market on victories there, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin.
Johnson’s record at Martinsville includes 6 wins and 12 top-5 finishes, but admits winning at tracks like Martinsville did not come easy at first…when he left the American Speed Association stock car series for NASCAR.
And with 7 top-5 finishes and 3 victories under his belt including a Chase victory last October, Denny Hamlin says he thinks Martinsville is probably his best track as far as himself versus the competition. And if you do win at Martinsville says Tony Stewart, it’s a victory worth savoring because, “nobody limps their way into victory lane and backs their way into it. If you got there you’ve earned it.”
