ATM Fees Hitting Record Highs
Fees at the ATM are hitting your wallet at record highs.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:
The average cost of using an ATM that is not linked to a customer’s bank has scaled a new peak… It will cost you a record $4.52 to get your own money.
According to data provider Bankrate, the bill is even bigger in Atlanta and New York, where the “out-of-network” cost is now more than $5. In some places under certain circumstances, the fee can even reach $8.
That record price is the result of a 21% spike in fees over the past five years.
The new high reflecting in part the fact that people aren’t using ATMs like they they used to. They’re just too expensive.
