Baltimore Reaches Settlement With Freddie Gray Family
The city of Baltimore reaches a settlement with the family of Freddie Gray, whose death in police custody led to criminal charges against six officers.
FOX News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports:
The $6.4 million settlement was reached before the Freddie Gray family even filed a lawsuit against the city seeking compensation. It’s still unclear whether Baltimore has accepted liability for Gray’s death in the agreement. Details could be released as soon as today. The settlement still needs to be approved by Baltimore’s Board of Estimates, which oversees spending. It comes a week after a pretrial hearing in the case sparked renewed — but small — demonstrations. Gray’s death last April led to days of rioting in Baltimore.
