Do you ever wonder if there are better days and times to handle the trickier milestones in your career?
The best day to apply for a job: Tuesday. SmartRecruiters, examined 270,000 job postings. Tuesday is the most popular day for companies to post those listings. If you are are in that first batch of resumes, chances are you are getting a fresh set of eyes.
Best day to ask for a raise: Friday. Your boss is in a better mood, more relaxed. Make sure the meeting, though, is scheduled before 2:30pm.
Best day to ask for promotion: Monday. This is more for your benefit than theirs. You need the weekend to prepare, rest, and strategize.
Best day to resign: Friday. Giving two weeks notice? Put that notice in on a Friday, and two weeks later, that Friday is your last day.
Best day to admit you’ve made a mistake: Wednesday. One of the toughest things to do! You’ve got to go in, and admit you screwed up. If it’s not an emergency, do it on a Wednesday. The boss is less stressed, and you still have Thursday and Friday to work together to find a solution.
