Texas Officer In Pool Party Incident Had Emotional Prior Calls, Says Attorney

The attorney for a former Texas police officer who resigned over his actions at a pool party says he’d already answered two suicide calls that day.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has the story:

Former Officer Eric Casebolt’s attorney Jane Bishkin, says the back-to-back calls had taken an “emotional toll” on him.

The first one involved a father who shot himself in front of his family.

(Bishkin) “He responded to a second suicide call – this one was involving a teenage girl who was threatening to commit suicide by jumping off of her parents’ roof.”

The attorney for the 15-year-old girl Casebolt subdued says his stress is not an adequate defense and says while the family believes her civil rights were violated, they won’t decide on a next step until she and the city have completed fact-finding.
