Political Turmoil Following Turkey Elections
Turkey’s ruling party has been stripped of its parliamentary majority.

President Tayyip Erdogan’s AKP party garnered around 41 percent of Sunday’s votes and is expected to take 258 seats in Parliament; 18 below the required number to rule.
Erdogan had planned to expand his powers in a new presidential system.
The pro-Kurdish HDP party, dealt the ruling party, its biggest setback by clearing the 10 percent threshold for the first time ever.

Turkey’s prime minister is expected to convene his cabinet to discuss the party’s options after its 13-year single party rule.
The country has 45 days to form a new government after the official results are confirmed.
