AFMW: Pat Quinn, Co-Creator of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers spends “A Few Moments With” Pat Quinn, Co-Creator of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Last summer, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge really did go viral – with some 17 million people participating – celebrities, musicians, and everyday folks. The Ice Bucket Challenge raised over $220 million dollars for various ALS charities, but more importantly, raised tremendous awareness for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. In fact, among individuals age 18-44, those that identified themselves as “very aware” of the disease more than doubled.
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge co-creator Pat Quinn was diagnosed with ALS two years ago at age 29. Since his diagnosis, he has made it a point to remain positive and spread his story in his hometown of Yonkers, New York, and around the globe.
Quinn sits down to talk about his story, and how the momentum continues to grow for ALS awareness.
