This weekend, the Sprint Cup goes to Talladega and Jamie McMurray, a two time winner at this track, says he’s feeling confident thanks to new crew chief Matt McCall:
(McCall) “He’s done a really nice job of calling the races and giving me a really fun car to drive that’s fast.”
I asked Front Row Motorsports driver Cole Whitt about what makes Talladega a challenge:
(Whitt) “The one thing that you can expect at Talladega is just expect the unexpected… you know, there’s nothing that you can really plan for.”
David Ragan moves to Michael Waltrip Racing – filling in for Brian Vickers for the rest of the season - Vickers sidelined again because of recurring blood clots. Team owner Michael Waltrip will be driving Vickers car this week at Talladega.
GoDaddy, Danica Patrick’s long time sponsor announces it won’t be back next season, leaving Patrick without full-time funding as she looks to renew her contract at Stewart-Haas Racing.
And, Jeff Gordon will drive the pace car for this year’s Indy 500.
