Nevada Rancher Continues Fight To Reclaim Land From Fed Govt
A Nevada rancher is still in the fight to reclaim land from the federal government.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster reports.
There’s a bill in the Nevada legislature that would require the federal government to get permission from the state, to use land within its borders.
Cliven Bundy and his supporters got into an armed standoff with federal agents last year, over unpaid grazing fees.
(Bundy) “I’ll be darned if we’re gonna have a federal ranger come around and say no fire, no camping, no this, no that… we’re here to be free.”
He spoke in favor of the bill at the state capitol in Carson City.
(Bundy) “Freedom means that we have opportunities to dream. Nevadans need to be able to dream.”
A state legislative oversight bureau, though, calls the bill unconstitutional.
